The fake calls resulted in troopers conducting a felony traffic stop on a school vanFlagstaff AZ (January 21, 2016) – Over the past two weeks, the Arizona Department of Public Safety’s (ADPS) northern Operations Communication Center (OPCOMM) located in Flagstaff, has received multiple 911 calls from a man falsely reporting various emergencies along northern Arizona highways. Two of the calls reported that his vehicle had been shot at and hit by a passing vehicle. Mary D. Fisher Theatre plays host to Academy Award nominated short films Jan. 29-Feb.4Sedona AZ (January 21, 2016) – The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premieres of The 2016 Oscar Shorts Programs Jan. 29-Feb. 4 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. Now an annual film festival tradition, Sedona audiences will be able to see all of the short films nominated for Academy Awards before the Oscar telecast in late February. Both the Live Action Short Film nominees and the Animated Short Film nominees will be featured. (Short documentaries will be offered later in February.)

After a very full day at museums in Balboa Park we stopped by The Chart House for a light meal, followed by lava chocolate cake before heading to the Cinepolis in La Costa and seeing Star Wars VII in 3D. Really enjoyed the movie and this woman walking her dog.

Bolshoi Ballet production from Moscow debuts on the big screen at Fisher TheatreSedona AZ (January 19, 2016) – The Sedona International Film Festival presents Ballet in Cinema on Sunday, Jan. 31 when it hosts the big screen premiere of “The Taming of the Shrew” from the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow. There will be one show at 4:00 p.m. at the festival’s Mary D. Fisher Theatre. “The Taming of the Shrew” features music by Dmitri Shostakovich and choreography by Jean-Christophe Maillot. Principal dancers include Ekaterina Krysanova (Katharnia), Vladislav Lantratov (Petruchio), Semyon Chudin (Lucentio) and Olga Smirnova (Bianca).
