By Ted Grussing… lots of stuff around here this morning and then an early outing in the afternoon with One as I wanted to be down at the ponds by 5:30P to shoot wildlife. It was hot out and One only lasted for about 49 minutes before she happily headed for the door. While we were out I noticed a new and likely last bloom on Cork’s, Argentine Giant Cactus … the cactus is still diminutive and in relation to the overall size of the cactus, the bloom will be large. Anyhow, I loved the shot, so here it is…

On one side, residents feel short changed, wondering why the city didn’t instead funnel these funds into direct benefits for residents. Benefits such as more parks, sports programs and facilities, better funding for the humane society and library, arts and concert programs–the list goes on and on.…

By Stanley T. Crooke  MD, PhD., Sedona Resident(June 26, 2018) Some weeks ago, I, my wife and two neighbors placed no parking signs and rocks on the west side of Dry Creek Road from Garnet Hill Dr. to FR 152.  Recently, the rocks and flags were removed by the city.  So why would four law abiding, tax-paying residents expend the effort to try to establish a “no parking” zone on a public street? As residents of the Estates at North Slopes and avid hikers, we are intimately familiar with the area on both sides of Dry Creek Road and frequently travel…

By Ted GrussingFriday, my new Nikon D850 arrived along with the Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 lens and a few other goodies. This is my first venture into Nikon gear in over fifteen years, but the reviews on this combo are just to good to not give it a shot … actually about a thousand shots since Friday. Trip up to Eric’s and shot some birds and then three separate trips to…
