Cottonwood AZ (July 8, 2018) – Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office personnel spend a lot of time tracking and monitoring sex offenders in Yavapai County. When detectives learn of sex offender registration violations, they immediately investigate. This was the case with 30-year-old Andrew Ryan Adams, a level 3 (high risk) offender.Detectives were notified that Adams failed to register an address change within 72 hours with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office as required. Cottonwood AZ (July 7, 2018) – On July 4, 2018, around 6 pm, deputies were dispatched to a fire report in the 4400 block of Rebel Circle in Cottonwood. When deputies arrived, Cottonwood fire personnel had already extinguished the fire.Deputies contacted the 27-year-old resident who admitted shooting fireworks at a glass table in the back yard. When some of the fireworks missed the table, they caught grass and pine needles on fire in his neighbor’s yard.
Clarkdale AZ (July 6, 2018) – Traffic will be restricted to One-Way-Only on Clarkdale Parkway, and Mountain Gate Drive will be closed (between Clarkdale Parkway and Alfonse Drive) beginning July 9, 2018 in order for the subdivision developer to make required repairs to the roundabout at the intersection of Clarkdale Parkway and Mountain Gate Drive. Construction completion is expected by July 16, 2018.
Prescott AZ (July 6, 2018) – Over the holiday weekend and into July 4th, 2018, a special DUI patrol, graciously funded by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, resulted in 67 traffic stops and 12 DUI arrests which included 1 drug related DUI, 4 Extreme DUI’s, and 1 Super Extreme DUI. The average blood alcohol content (BAC) was .135 with a high BAC suspect at .358.

Tens of thousands more dollars are paid out in other contracts to non-city organizations which provide a host of services. Most of these sums, however, appears to be doled out through political lobbying and patronage to certain favored organizations without competitive grants (awarded after judging by a panel of unbiased city staff members and after letting the public weigh in at a public hearing).
