    … after I shot the photo of the single bud on the Argentinian Giant Cactus, it bloomed in glorious fashion the very next day and I got some photos of it. The day after that, it closed up and a day or two later it detached from our diminutive A. Giant Cactus and lay on the ground until the winds swept it away. A single day of beauty, giving it all and then gone … we are fortunate, we get more than one day to convey our inner beauty  … although some never do, the opportunity is ever present, just seems like some are infused with negativity and that is the only character they display. Still, each new moment is a new opportunity.

    With the Southwest well into the normalcy of a draught cycle, it is tough on all the wildlife out there.  Arizona Game and Fish has a program to get water out to about 3,000 sites in the state so that life for our friends can continue. You can help, go to: http://www.gameandfishfacts.com/  and make a donation … we do not survive without adequate water and neither do wildlife. Please consider making a donation … enjoy the sight of deer or elk in a field? No water, no deer or elk. Survival is simple and certain things like food and water are essential to life. While you are on the site, check out all the good things Arizona Game and Fish does for wildlife in our state. Bubbling Ponds in Page Spring, where I do a lot of my wildlife shooting is one example … a lot of trout and other fish are raised there and released into stream and lakes throughout the state.

    Arizona Game and Fish Department does not receive a single penny from the general tax funds of the state, but 100% of their budget comes from sources such as hunting and fishing licenses and donations: http://www.gameandfishfacts.com/funding . So make a donation, however small, it is appreciated.

    Almost time for the morning espresso … time to shut the day down for a while … have a beautiful day as we move into the new week.

    Cheers

    Ted

    … do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
    Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
    Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
    You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and stars;
    you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you,
    no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

    … with all its sham drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.

    Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

    A Bad Moon Rising

    By Tommy Acosta
    What the hell is going on? Is the fabric of society in the U.S. tearing apart at the seams? Watching those videos of teens gone wild, smashing windows, stealing from shopping centers, laughing while running over bicyclists — an omen of things to come? What can be done? Catch them? Incarcerate them. Put them in jails until they learn enough about crime to come out as skilled criminals? These kids, these young men and women of color, are growing wild in the streets. From fatherless homes, unable to properly read or write, a dismal and destitute future ahead of them. What is going to happen when they reach adulthood? The cops can’t stop them. There are simply too many. They can flash mob a phalanx of cops and just run berserk around them. What are the police to do? Shoot them? Read more→
