The back stabbing, the slanderous comments, the lifting of words out of context all to get YOUR person elected. The voters need to pull the curtain back and see who is pulling the levers. Always a good practice is to “follow the money”. When you do that, the dirt in politics and the people pushing the dirt becomes apparent.

Andy Dickey, Assistant Community Development Director/City Engineer Sedona AZ (August 13, 2014) – With monsoon activity there is the potential for flooding which may result in damage to buildings and property. Due to damage resulting from the flood event in 2009, flood control relief was requested by the impacted areas of the community. In response, the City accelerated construction of capital drainage projects and programmed future projects in the areas impacted by past flooding. These projects focus on the downstream or impacted area of the drainage basins, and include infrastructure improvements that minimize damage due to flood waters.
Sedona AZ (August 13, 2014) – Carolyn Fisher and Sunday Larson of Sedona are both looking forward to the screening and discussion “Iron Jawed Angels”, the HBO movie about the dynamic young suffragettes who put their lives on the line so American women could have the right to vote. Both women had great grandmothers who fought for the cause and they will share some memories with the attendees. The free event is Thursday, August 21, 6-9PM, at the Sedona Public Library hosted by The League of Women Voters Greater Verde Valley and SpeakOut Sedona.
Rimrock AZ (August 13, 2014) – This morning at 7:50 AM, Montezuma Rimrock Fire District (MRFD), with assistance from Sedona Fire District and Yavapai County Sheriff’ Office (YCSO), responded to the report of a single engine airplane off the west end of the Rimrock Airport runway. Upon arrival, MRFD crews hiked down to a low-wing single engine aircraft (Mooney M20F) that impacted terrain below the level of the runway. The aircraft suffered significant damage. There was no fire associated with the impact. Weather conditions were poor at the time of the incident with low clouds and rain.

I was shocked and disappointed to see the letter attacking the man running for Sedona mayor in the Red Rock News. This is especially so after the “News” just ran an editorial touting how they don’t approve of negative campaigning and advertising. Sedona is a better place and the people here are better than to condone or approve of this kind of political attack, regardless of the person or the issue.

Sedona AZ (August 11, 2014) – SDB Contracting Services began construction on the pedestrian sidewalk and ADA curb-cut ramp located in the City of Sedona right of way in front of the new Cedic Plaza located at 285 Jordan Road. Construction began Monday, August 11, 2014, with construction to continue through Friday, August 15.
