Sedona AZ (February 12, 2018) – The February Voter Education Program of the League of Women Voters Greater Verde Valley will be a “Tale of Two Monuments: Bears Ears and Grand Canyon” presented by Roger Clark, Grand Canyon Program Director, Grand Canyon Trust.  The program will take place on Monday, February 26, 12:30-2PM, Room 34, at Yavapai College, 4215 Arts Village Dr., in Sedona. Sedona AZ (February 10, 2018) – On Saturday, February 17, beginning at 10:00 a.m., the Jewish Community of Sedona and the Verde Valley will observe a traditional Sabbath Shachrit (morning) service. The service, in both Hebrew and English, will be led by Rabbi Alicia Magal, with participation from many JCSVV congregants. It announced that the SFD board was now looking into the upcoming fire district budget. The remainder of his message was an insult to the intelligence of the public. Cottonwood AZ (February 9, 2018) – Baseball and Softball players, boys and girls ages 7-18 get ready for the upcoming season with instruction in Cottonwood from a top Professional Arizona Coach Joe Sperle who has helped many players improve to their skills and advance to play in high school, college, and professionally and Mingus High Alumni All-State players, Hunter and Austin Zwart. Hunter played on the 2008 and 2009 back to back Mingus High State Championship teams. Austin was the AZ State Little League 2008 All-Star 12U Home Run Derby Champion and a 4 Year Baseball Letterman at Mingus High.

Cornville AZ (February 9, 2018) – UPDATE – Immediately following the media release issued on January 25, 2018, YCSO began receiving tips naming the suspect as 33- year-old Branden Anderson. As the investigation continued, deputies located additional identifying information documented by a drug store clerk during the suspect’s purchase of cigarettes with the stolen credit card. After reviewing archived booking photos of Anderson, deputies confirmed a match to security photos and also learned Anderson served prison time for trafficking in stolen property and drug possession.
