For one thing it was a lot cheaper for an aspiring 8 year old and for a professional 14 year old I could do all the work myself in my dad’s bar converted to a darkroom … talk about a great dad! Color photography came a few years later and most of my work has been in color … or black and white with spot color which is a great eye grabber.
Camp Verde AZ (December 10, 2018) – The next Music in the Stacks, a free monthly concert series, will take place on Thursday, December 13th at 5:30 pm in Camp Verde Community Library’s Fireside Room. Music in the Stacks is a showcase of local and national musicians who entertain regularly in Northern Arizona. There are 4-6 different performers during the show, with a rotating variety each month.
Prescott AZ (December 10, 2018) – The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office was recently awarded grants totaling in excess of $51,000 from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS). These monies will help YCSO enhance its efforts to keep roads safe throughout Yavapai County. The funding period is for the 2019 year grant cycle – October 2018 to September 2019.

Clarkdale AZ (December 7, 2018) – The Annual Cash for College Scholarship Awareness Night in Clarkdale brought together 24 scholarship providers and nearly 200 Sedona and Verde Valley high school and adult students and their families to learn about local scholarship opportunities. The event, hosted by the Arizona Community Foundation of Sedona in partnership with the Arizona Community Foundation of Yavapai County and sponsored by Yavapai College, is part of an ongoing effort to increase awareness about financial support for higher education available to high school students and adult students of all ages.
Sedona AZ (December 7, 2018) – The Sedona City Council adopted a new Land Development Code (LDC) and Zoning Map on Nov. 14. The new LDC will take effect Dec. 14, and the section on Urban Agriculture, the keeping of bees and chickens, will take effect on March 31, 2019.

Martha Summerhayes, the young bride of an Army lieutenant, did just that and shared her adventures in her book “Vanished Arizona: Recollections of the Army Life of a New England Woman.” This classic book was first published in 1908 and reprinted several times. Martha’s book is still being read, discussed, and enjoyed today.

Now imagine that the primary arteries of the heart are SR89a heading west, SR89a heading north and SR179 heading south. Such was this flight back on October 9th when I had to fly high to get to Flagstaff and then drop down through a blue hole in the clouds to go under and shoot the color and snow on the San Francisco Peaks.
