The area south and  east of Flagstaff is replete with small lakes and the stress cracks in the ice create beautiful patterns which are fun to witness. Sedona AZ (June 5, 2015) – The City of Sedona is on schedule for this Monday, June 15, 2015 to begin major pavement repair work on SR 89A in Uptown Sedona.  The road is in failing condition due to in part to the 25,000 vehicles that travel the road each day, based on a yearly average.  The repair work will not just address the surface of the road but will also rebuild portions of the subgrade, thereby improving smooth, safe travel and reducing the need for future disturbances to perform repairs.

Cornville AZ (June 4, 2015) – On Wednesday, June 3 approximately 1200 hours the Verde Valley Fire District (VVFD) responded to a possible wildland fire off of Page Springs Road in Cornville.  First units arrived to find a 1.5 acre urban interface wildfire with high fuels threatening homes.  Fire units from VVFD, Montezuma Rimrock FD, Clarkdale FD, Forest service including air support, and YCSO was added to this assignment.

Cottonwood AZ (June 4, 2015) – UPDATE – Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy John Russell is providing the following updated information: At approximately 4:09 AM on May 30, 2015, 18-year-old Ebin Proctor of Cottonwood was one of 6 occupants in a vehicle stopped by 2 YCSO deputies on Vaquero Lane in Cottonwood.  During contact with the deputies, Proctor gave a false identity.   It was later determined Proctor was on active felony probation for an incident which occurred on May 22, 2014, where he plead guilty to  Resisting Arrest and Aggravated Assault on a Chino Valley Police Officer.  Proctor had violated…
