Humphreys Peak is 12, 633’ and this shot captures the mountain from about 10,000’ and up. On the right side of the image you can see a clearing with some white spots in it … this clearing is at the 11,000’ level and the white spots are the remains of a B-24 bomber that crashed into the mountain while on a night training exercise September 15, 1944. Rimrock AZ (October 20, 2016) – On October 13th, 2016 at approximately 9:30 PM, the Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking Task Force (P.A.N.T.), along with personnel from the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant seeking evidence of illegal drug use and possession for sales at a residence located in the 3900 block of Beaver Vista Road in Rimrock, Arizona. During the execution of the search warrant, 57-year old Mark Stanley Marszalek and 39 year-old Haili Teresa Herbert, were located inside the residence. By Ted GrussingThere is an area on the NW side of the Painted Desert where Coal Mine Mesa breaks off through the Chinle and Moenkopi formations and the eroded patterns almost appear to have been done with a large V blade type knife and the environment looks incredibly hostile … no roads or apparent means of access. It also looks like the formations are rich in copper minerals … need to get some low level shots of the formations on my next flight up in the area.

Rimrock AZ (October 20, 2016) – On October 15, 2016, a YCSO detective was involved in an investigation of a homicide that occurred late night on October 14th in the 4000 block of E Airport Drive, Rimrock. A 17-year-old suspect was eventually arrested and the homicide scene was under full protective containment by YCSO personnel but had not yet been searched. 24-year-old Moriah Calhoun, who lives in a room at the home, was interviewed off site in the early morning hours of October 15th regarding the incident and determined not to be involved.
