Sedona AZ (January 21, 2013) – Studio Live presents Sedona’s first ever Rap Battle Saturday, February 2nd at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10.00 general admission, doors open at 7:00 pm. Eight local youth rap artists are going head to head to compete for a cash prize, for the first ever Sedona-based rap battle. To compete in the rap battle, each battler must be able to consistently hold a freestyle flow(a “stream” of rap) for at least 2 minutes. Sedona AZ (January 20, 2013) – Shortly after 5:00 pm on Thursday, January 17, the Sedona Fire District responded to a report of a residential garage fire in the 100 block area of Chimney Rock Trail. Sedona Fire District emergency crews were able to control and limit the fire to the laundry room portion of a detached garage. Due to these efforts, no damage occurred to the remainder of the garage or to the nearby home. Residents were able to evacuate safely with no reported injuries. Sedona AZ (January 18, 2013) – The Sedona Heritage Museum recently received a grant from the Sedona Community Foundation to implement a new financial management tool. The grant paid for software and hardware that is intended to positively enhance the financial efficiency and effectiveness of the organization and has elements that will also positively impact the quality of visitor experience and member services. The grant will provide easy technology for this mostly volunteer run organization.

The Wastewater Capacity Compliance Program involves conducting random wastewater capacity inspections for non-single family resident users. This group of users includes multi-family dwellings, restaurants, businesses, religious institutions, and professional offices, among others. Flagstaff AZ (January 16, 2013) – The U.S. Forest Service will join in the celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, by waiving day-use fees on Jan. 21 that are associated with many recreation sites on the Coconino National Forest. This fee-free day is being offered in cooperation with other agencies that collect recreation fees under authority of the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (REA), including: the National Park Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Bureau of Land Management.
Sedona AZ (January 16, 2013) – The Sedona Heritage Museum will host an opening reception for their newest changing exhibit “One Family’s Closet: 1912-1962”, on Saturday January 26 at 10 a.m. The exhibit features nine focus areas representing Jordan family clothing, including items that belonged to various members of one Arizona pioneer family: Annie Bristow Jordan, Ruth Woolf Jordan, Anne Jordan Jackson, Helen Jordan, and other family members.
