Parks and Recreation has organized Pool Time Extras every other Thursday during the summer months. Verde Valley AZ (June 19, 2013) – On Monday, June 24th from 3:00pm to 4:30pm, the Yavapai Reentry Project will be hosting an educational community meeting on “Employment and Tax Credits.” The meeting will be held in the Founders Suite of the Prescott Public Library, 215 E. Titled “Nature’s Power Drive,” the course takes young students from reading about alternative energies to applying them. Sedona AZ (June 18, 2013) – The City of Sedona has been disbanding all the commissions that have been serving the community for many years. They are being reformulated with City Staff selecting issues and asking for citizens to volunteer to assist. This is opposite to the way commissions have operated in the past where citizens drove the issues and staff supported the commissions. Sedona AZ (June 18, 2013) – Several Saturday shoppers at Webber’s IGA found a bargain they could not refuse: free books mailed to their pre-school kids every month until they turn five. Sitting at a table covered with books and balloons, was a friendly Rotarian ready to explain the Imagination Library. Some parents with children already registered in the program stopped to tell the Rotarians how excited their child is each month when a book comes in the mail addressed to him/her.

Sedona AZ (June 17, 2013) – Shortly before 7:00 pm, Sunday, June 16, 2013, Sedona Fire District (SFD) emergency crews were called to the 100 block of Canyon Diablo Road in the Village of Oak Creek for a reported structure fire in a multi-unit apartment building. Upon arrival, the first fire crews found the fire had been extinguished by a single fire sprinkler head activation located in the kitchen of a one-bedroom apartment.
