By Tommy AcostaAssociate Editor Sedona AZ (July 6, 2015) – The drama deepens in the Sedona Oak Creek Unified School District with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office launching a preliminary investigation into apparent violations of conflict of interest statutes by two present and one former school board member after citing the school board for three open meeting law violations. Information & Perspective by Warren Woodward(July 3, 2015)  I just received another batch of emails and documents from the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) via a Public Records Request. One of the emails, dated February 9, 2015 is from ACC Utility Engineer Margaret Little to ACC Utility Engineer Jeff Francis. Little forwarded Francis a news story entitled, “AMI saves Central Maine Power $8 million in 1 year.” Little added this comment, “Wow! – a savings reported due to Smart Meters. Awesome.” Evidently poor Margaret Little cannot do basic math, nor is she capable of the critical thought necessary to recognize propaganda…

Sedona AZ (July 3, 2015) – Hi There! My name is Divine and I am spayed, 2 year old Heeler type breed of dog. I was a bit shy when I first came to the shelter but my human and dog friends have been so nice to me that I am slowly turning into a more secure and spunky girl. I have to admit that I love hugs, attention and am truly happy when I am around people. I could easily be a lap dog because I like human touch.  Please consider adopting me . . . I promise I…

By Ted Grussing … Jim came over a few days ago and took some photos  as I began the process of converting a very beautiful piece of opal rough into a couple of museum quality stones. This piece of gem quality rough opal is from the Olympic Fields in Coober Pedy, SA and came out of the ground back in the early 50’s and it is one of the larger pieces of gem quality opal rough I have seen. It weighs in at close to 20 Troy oz. and is pretty much solid color bars. A pretty good article on…

By Mary Cravets, Business Coach & Speaker Sedona AZ (July 2, 2015) – Over the past few weeks, several clients and colleagues came to me and said, “I was invited to a meeting with [insert name here] and I’m not sure why we’re meeting.” I was FLOORED. I know how busy entrepreneurs are. I know how much they value their freedom… how can they afford to take meetings with no clear purpose? And why would they? In-person meetings take a serious investment of your time, so you must make that investment intentionally. When you invest in the wrong meetings, it wastes…

By Ted Grussing One of the few things I do not like about using a mass email service is that it reduces the size and quality of the images I send out. I have rewritten the code to give me larger images, but there is a very low threshold quality I am able to get. So, while I am talking the very high quality of images, those on the Constant Contact list are getting a very reduced quality image … still looks good, but not what I would like. To see a much higher quality just click on this link:…

Sedona AZ (July 1, 2015) – The natural world and its relationship with human society have been explored by artists since the early days of civilization.  But there is always room for new perspectives.  As society evolves and its effects on nature become ever more complex, the need for reexamination of that relationship grows accordingly.

By Matthew C OskowisParent/AdvocateCOPAA Member(June 30, 2015)  I received a letter from the Office of the Arizona Attorney General dated June 25, 2015 regarding the Open Meeting Law Complaint against Sedona Oak Creek Unified School District that I had filed against the District back in August 27, 2014. The complaint dealt with the two Special Public Meetings that the SOCUSD governing board held consecutively Monday, June 23, 2014 and Monday, July 14, 2014. These two board meetings were critical in the determination and selection of Scott Keller as the second principal at West Sedona School.
