When his grandparents gave him a book about birds only a few years later, he was transfixed by our feathered friends, and he spent hours quietly drawing various species. Sedona AZ (December 3, 2012) – As City Council members, we also serve as liaisons to city appointed commissions and various community organizations. I’m pleased to serve as liaison to the Verde Valley Homeless Coalition chaired by Marilyn Williams of Catholic Charities and which meets quarterly in Cottonwood. The Coalition is made up of representatives of area social service agencies, independent groups and individuals who share the mission of providing assistance to the homeless as well as working toward long term solutions to homelessness in the Verde Valley.

Clarkdale AZ (December 2, 2012) – Registration is now open for courses in the Fast-Track Management Program at the Yavapai College Clarkdale campus. The program is geared toward working adults in the Sedona, Cottonwood and Clarkdale area to build managerial skills, confidence and professional recognition. The courses will be taught on Thursday evenings in a six-week, short-course format starting January 31, 2013 on the Clarkdale campus.
Verde Valley AZ (December 2, 2012) – Each year as part of its highly successful program to manage and conserve bald eagles in the state, the Arizona Game and Fish Department asks outdoor recreationists to help protect important eagle breeding areas by honoring the closure of 21 areas across the state. Various land and wildlife management agencies close the breeding areas for part of the year, beginning in December, to protect the state’s 55 breeding pairs of bald eagles. Some of the closure areas are located near popular recreation sites.
