Sedona AZ (June 14, 2013) – This year, the City of Sedona continues to pursue an accelerated street maintenance program for its approximately 106 miles of streets. This program involves overlaying of roads and streets, along with performing maintenance activities to extend pavement life. Although the City has been overlaying and maintaining streets for many years, the program was accelerated, beginning in 2012, with a doubling of the budget dollars allocated for road work. Sedona AZ (June 13, 2013) – The Sedona Heritage Museum is hosting a selection of quilts from the Arizona Centennial Quilt Project, now through early September 2013. Three of the quilts are by Yavapai County quilters, including a quilt designed like a ‘balloon’ lettered vintage postcard. Other quilts feature a crossword puzzle of Arizona terms, a quilt begun in the 1930s but not completed until this project, a quilt by a Hopi quilter from First Mesa, a quilt by a Brownie girls scout troop, and several ‘art’ quilts that celebrate different themes of our state.

Intermittent one-hour closures expected on I-17 in both directions between midnight and 3 a.m. Verde Valley AZ (June 13, 2013) – Motorists traveling on Interstate 17 south of Camp Verde between midnight and 3 a.m. during the next three weeks need to plan ahead and allow extra travel time due to overnight construction on a climbing lane project, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
