Phoenix AZ (November 12, 2020) – The Arizona Community Foundation and its donors are pleased to announce grant, scholarship, and loan distributions for the second quarter of its fiscal year. Between July 1 and September 30, 2020, a total of $51,131,263 was awarded from funds of the Arizona Community Foundation and its six statewide affiliates in Cochise, Flagstaff, the Gila Valley, Sedona, Yavapai County, and Yuma.

Flagstaff AZ (November 10, 2020) – Stage 1 fire restrictions are currently lifted across Coconino NF, as key components and measurements that fire managers use to determine the implementation of fire restrictions have dropped, which has also decreased fire danger.However, visitors should be aware of certain areas that have fire restrictions year-round, which can be found on the Coconino NF Forest Orders web page.Coconino NF briefly came out of fire restrictions when monsoon arrived in July, but then reentered Stage 1 fire restrictions on August 14 and has been in restrictions up until today.

Sedona AZ (November 10, 2020) – Sedona Fire District (SFD) lifts fire restrictions previously in effect for all portions of the fire district effective November 11th at 08:00 am.Recent rains along with higher humidity and increased fuel moistures have lowered, but not eliminated fire danger in the fire district. SFD encourages everyone to be responsible when working with or around fire. Allowed recreational fires include heating, cooking, religious and ceremonial fires, and shall not exceed a fuel area of 36 inches in diameter and fuel shall not be stacked higher than 24 inches. Sedona AZ (November 10, 2020) – The Sedona Police Department launched a traffic enforcement effort with support from two Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety grants totaling $11,200.The first grant pays overtime to enforce and participate in driving under the influence (DUI) programming. Approximately one-third of all traffic crash fatalities in the U.S. involve drunk drivers. In 2018, there were 10,511 people killed in these preventable crashes.
