Flagstaff AZ (July 7, 2014) – Due to significant and widespread rain and rapidly decreasing fire danger, the Coconino and Kaibab National Forests in northern Arizona will lift all fire restrictions at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8. Managers typically lift fire restrictions when at least a half inch of precipitation has been received over more than two-thirds of the forests. To date, many areas of both forests have received double that amount of precipitation, with an inch or more of rain being reported in many locations. Fire danger has decreased dramatically from “extreme” last week to “moderate” today.

Sedona AZ (July 7, 2014) – The Sedona Police Department, in partnership with the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS), will be conducting a 90 day Selective Enforcement Patrols (STEP) within the city limits of Sedona. STEP is focused on a variety of safety-related moving violations and traffic offenses. The goal of the selective enforcement is not only to locate violators of traffic laws, but to also increase public awareness about motorists of traffic laws and to reduce and prevent vehicle accidents and fatalities.
Sedona AZ (July 6, 2014) – UPDATE – The section of State Route 89A in Oak Creek Canyon that was closed because of flooding earlier today has reopened, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. SR 89A was closed near the Switchbacks section, from milepost 388 to milepost 391, about 10 miles north of Sedona. ADOT crews have removed debris from the roadway to make it safe for drivers.

Sedona AZ (July 6, 2014) – Within hours after smart meters were installed in the 6 properties surrounding Marianne Hartsong’s property, she began to experience strange phenomenon. Her bees swarmed and then suddenly died, her chicken’s egg laying pattern changed, she can’t get focused to play the viola, and she uses an anti microwave device in her home to minimize the radiation. Sedona AZ (July 5, 2014) – The Sedona Fire District activated their siren warning system in Oak Creek Canyon in cooperation with Coconino County Emergency Management and Sheriff’s Office as a result of a Flash Flood Warning issued by the National Weather Service, Flagstaff Office on Friday, July 4, 2014 at approximately 6:43 pm. Sedona Fire District, Coconino Sheriff’s Office and City of Sedona Police Department responded to access the situation.
Flooding briefly closed highway on Friday Sedona AZ (July 5, 2014) – UPDATE – State Route 89A has reopened in Oak Creek Canyon near the Slide wildfire burn area, following a brief closure Friday because of flooding, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. SR 89A was closed between Sedona and Flagstaff, mileposts 375-390, for approximately two-and-a-half hours. No damage was immediately reported to the roadway.
