I love the faces and eyes of owls, and they had a couple at the train station today for fundraising purposes for a shelter. He was actually a pretty diminutive little guy, but the eyes are captivating and makes him seem like a giant!!!

Cottonwood AZ (October 16, 2015) – On October 13, 2015, around 3 PM, 66-year-old William Neal Adkinson (hometown has not been confirmed), was involved in an accident near Forest Service Road 361, off of Hwy-260 in Cottonwood, Az. He was operating a “Polaris Razor” as the only occupant and while attempting to pass another off-road vehicle, apparently lost control due to his speed. Adkinson drove onto a raised dirt shoulder then through a barbed wire fence and down a steep embankment. The vehicle appears to have rolled several times. Adkinson was ejected and suffered numerous serious injuries.
Sedona AZ (October 16, 2015) – On Friday October 23rd, Alberto Rios, Arizona’s first poet laureate will speak at the Sedona library from 7-9 pm. Rios has published several books of poetry, short story collections, and a memoir. The last time the Pumphouse Poetry and Prose Project invited Rios to read, the auditorium was packed and when the show was over the excited throng spilled into the cool autumn night enthusiastically discussing ideas and literature.
Sedona AZ (October 16, 2015) – The gift-giving holiday season is fast upon us all. What do we do for those on our list who have everything? You may want to check out this weekend’s Fall Arts & Crafts Fair at the Sedona Heritage Museum. The show is Saturday only, October 24 at the Museum in Uptown Sedona. Doors are open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The show will be set up in the historic Jordan apple packing shed and the surrounding park.
Sedona AZ (October 16, 2015) – The Sedona Marathon Event, which is produced by the Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau, is set for February 6, 2016. The event includes four races: 5K, 10K, Half and Full Marathons. In 2015, the Sedona Marathon Event generated $4.3 million in direct spending in the Sedona area by attendees and participants, generating $130,000 in sales and bed taxes for the City of Sedona.
