… last Friday in Lockett meadows and looking into the caldera of the San Francisco Peaks, also known as the inner basin … it is lovely. The clouds did not want to cover the sun so you get the starred version of it thanks to the optical effects of my lens. The roadway circles the meadow in the woods and is to the left, the right and beyond the first tree line in the photo. It is nice seeing it from the ground, and I can also see the routes I fly into the basin and about a thousand feet below the peaks.

Someday I’ll do the hike to the top of the inner basin, but not this day. Looking straight in the back peak is Agassiz Peak and Snow Bowl ski area is on the other side. Humphreys Peak which is several hundred feet higher than Agassiz is hidden from view on the right side. Driving into Flagstaff from the south Agassiz is the peak that you see, not Humphreys. Anyhow, a beautiful place to visit and highly recommend it.

Today is Wednesday and that means that Anthony will be playing at the Hilton … I think … he is doing a concert in Michigan this weekend and believe he leaves Friday? Also Anthony is now the Musical Director for L’Auberge in Sedona. His responsibilities include playing there Friday evenings and Sunday at the brunch as well as hiring other musicians to play at the venue. Beginning next week he will also be playing at Sound Bites Grill in Sedona Tuesday evenings and is doing the Legends of Guitars show.

Taking the Verde Canyon Train today … a nice slow train ride along the Verde River from Clarkdale to Perkinsville and back. Doesn’t look like the foliage will be turning, but a nice relaxing ride. Two years ago today when we took the ride there were a lot of butterflies along the river … maybe tomorrow too. I like the definition that Ace, Corky’s brother gave me for these beautiful little creatures … “ Flutter Byes” seems more appropriate and descriptive too … something from his childhood. Thanks Ace!

I am actually caught up on my emails and some of you got replies to emails you sent me as far back as June. I’m going to try and keep up to date on replies going forward … at least until I don’t :+)

Have a beautiful day and share the joy you find in life and wear a smile … truly amazing the effect it has on others, and yourself.

    Cheers

    Ted
