Sedona AZ (February 26, 2016) – Within a 90 minute period Monday, February 22, 2016 the Sedona Fire District (SFD) emergency crews responded to reports of multiple brush fires along North State Route 89A in Oak Creek Canyon and in the City of Sedona near Doodlebug.  The initial call came in at approximately 7:30 pm with additional calls at 8:30 pm and 9:10 pm. SFD crews located three fires in Oak Creek Canyon and one in the City of Sedona near Doodlebug Road.

Sedona AZ (February 26, 2016) – Forest Service law enforcement and the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office is seeking any information on a string of suspicious human-caused fires that have occurred over the past week in Oak Creek Canyon.On Monday (Feb. 22), from approximately 7:30 to 8 p.m., four fires—named the Briar, Snake, Rock and Switchback fires—were started in Oak Creek Canyon along Highway 89A and grew to only a tenth of an acre before they were reported and fire personnel extinguished them.  The Briar fire was located on the west side of the highway, about 1.4 miles north of Midgley Bridge, near…

The latest incident involved a Prescott victim who placed an ad for aftermarket car parts. He was eventually contacted by an interested party who agreed to purchase the advertised items. The buyer sent a check via UPS next day air in the amount of $2100 which was $950 over the price originally agreed to by the victim.
