Sedona AZ (June 28, 2016) – The Sedona Fire District (SFD) gratefully announces the end of formal fundraising for the 9/11 Memorial. Due to the tremendous generosity of our community and donors from around the country, the commitments and funds already received have allowed us to exceed our goal to fund the Memorial. Any future donations received will be used for project enhancements, such as landscaping, signage, dedication ceremony, etc. Donations of $911 or more will be recognized on a donor plaque at the site, and the cut-off date for any further donor recognition is Friday, July 15th, 2016.

Sedona AZ (June 25, 2016) – Banicki Construction will complete preventative road maintenance on Highway 89A between Forest Road and just north of Art Barn Lane during the week of June 26, 2016. Work will primarily occur during nighttime hours from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. when traffic is minimal. The project will seal coat approximately 2,100 feet of existing roadway along with parking areas and loading zones adjacent to Highway 89A. Additionally, all parking bumpers along Highway 89A will be replaced with new decorative recycled rubber car stops.

More triple digit weather through the weekend too … thinking fly high in temps in the 40’s and then drive up to the Flagstaff area and spend a day. Given the current air quality I’m thinking that being in the Snow Bowl parking lot at sunset should be spectacular with the sun setting behind Kendrick Peak. Think it shall be a nice weekend!
