Clarkdale AZ (March 31, 2017) – Lori McDonald has been content for years to work in a variety of different professions while investigating careers that were a better fit for her interests and intellect.But the 42-year-old Yavapai College student is ready to let her wandering spirit rest and focus on finishing something she started. That something is an aerospace engineering degree now that she has been invited to participate in NASA’s Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) Project. The program’s aim is attracting and retaining students in science, technology, math and engineering (STEM) disciplines critical to NASA’s future missions.

Crews will reduce roadway to one lane overnightDrivers should allow extra travel time between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.Cottonwood AZ (March 31, 2017) – Overnight work will continue on SR 260 in Camp Verde near Interstate 17 as crews haul excess materials. SR 260 will be narrowed to one lane from Sunday, April 2 through Thursday, April 7 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.Drivers will need to allow additional travel time as they will be guided through the work zone by flagging crews.

Flagstaff AZ (March 30, 2017) – This spring the Flagstaff Ranger District is opening some recreation sites earlier than usual with limited amenities. Lower Lake Mary Picnic Area is now open Saturdays and Sundays until April 10, when it will open for the entire week. The picnic area is day use only and gates will be opened at 7:30 a.m. and closed at 5:30 p.m. each weekend day. New Bolshoi Ballet production from Moscow debuts on the big screen at Fisher TheatreSedona AZ (March 29, 2017) – The Sedona International Film Festival presents Ballet in Cinema on Sunday, April 9 when it hosts the big screen premiere of “A Hero of Our Time” from the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow. There will be one show at 3:00 p.m. at the festival’s Mary D. Fisher Theatre. “A Hero of Our Time” features music by Ilya Demutsky, choreography by Yuri Possokhov and libretto by Kirill Serebrennikov. The cast includes the Bolshoi’s principal dancers and the corps de ballet from the Bolshoi.
