Camp Verde AZ (August 19, 2018) – Saturday, August 18 around 6:30 PM, YCSO received a call concerning an overdue small plane.  The family member of the plane’s owner indicated they had been trying reach the pilot for several hours without success. Earlier, the pilot indicated he was taking a friend for a short flight in the area around Yavapai County. Local aircraft towers had no record of this plane in the air.

Cottonwood AZ (August 18, 2018) – On Thursday August 16, The Verde Valley Fire District responded to two separate motor vehicle accidents that caused major disruptions to area traffic.The first occurred at approximately 2:50 PM when the Verde Valley Fire District (VVFD), Cottonwood Fire and Medical Department (CFMD), Verde Valley Ambulance Company, and Cottonwood PD responded to a report of a two car motor vehicle accident on SR89A in front the Denny’s Restaurant. Sedona AZ (August 17, 2018) – The Sedona Heritage Museum has announced plans to develop a permanent exhibit about the importance of Oak Creek and its contributions to Sedona’s settlement, our agricultural (past) and tourism (present) economies, and its distinctive place in the community’s future. A generous friend of the Museum has donated $5000 to establish a matching funds challenge to complete the fund-raising for this project. The Museum Board and volunteers are now asking the community to assist with raising those final funds.
