Sedona AZ (October 5, 2011) – The City of Sedona has been notified that Centurylink (formerly Qwest) will be performing underground work on Brewer Road starting Thursday, October 6 through Tuesday, October 11, 2011. The work will require a lane closure on Brewer Road for southbound traffic just north of Ranger Road. The work is restricted to nighttime between the hours of 8:00 p.m. through 6:00 a.m. No lane restrictions have been authorized during the day. Sedona AZ (October 3, 2011) – The League of American Bicyclists, headquartered in Washington, DC, announced in May that Sedona was awarded the Bronze level Bicycle Friendly Community designation. Signs have been posted at entrances to the City to let residents and tourist know about this designation. Sedona joins Chandler, Flagstaff, Gilbert, Scottsdale, Tempe and Tucson as Arizona Cities that have been designated Bicycle Friendly Communities. Crews to conduct firing operations on Beef Fire, expect increased smoke Flagstaff, AZ (September 29, 2011)  – Management efforts continue on the Beef Fire today as crews prepare to conduct firing operations. Ignitions are anticipated to begin around noon; increased smoke will be noticeable south of Flagstaff. Forecast winds will help the majority of smoke disperse away from communities, however, some residual smoke will settle in the Lake Mary area as well as east Flagstaff overnight. It will lift and disperse mid-morning as the day warms.
