In 2011, the US Senate proclaimed March 30 Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day. This date marks the anniversary of the day that combat and combat support units withdrew completely from Vietnam. The City Councils in the Verde Valley will join the Senate by issuing their own proclamations.

Sedona AZ (March 19, 2012) – The City of Sedona is undertaking the development of a Parks and Recreation Master Plan. This comprehensive plan is being created to specifically address both current and future parks and recreation facilities, programs, events and funding mechanisms. This master plan is being done in conjunction with the broader Sedona Community Plan Update also under development at this time.
Sedona AZ (March 19, 2012) – Allyson Holmes and Steve Segner have been appointed to the Historic Preservation Commission by the Sedona City Council. Holmes will serve a three-year term and Segner will fill a vacancy that ends in one year. The Historic Preservation Commission is responsible for preserving historic sites, buildings and unique features of the community. The commission also hosts special events to help educate residents and celebrate local history such as National Historic Preservation Month and the year-long activities associated with Arizona’s Centennial.
Flagstaff AZ (March 19, 2012) – ADOT crews are fully deployed in response to this winter storm, removing snow and ice from the roadways. Flagstaff District Update, 2:30PM: All highways in the Flagstaff area are open and passable. ADOT crews were able to break through the snow drifts on US 180 and the highway is now open.
