Sedona, AZ (March 30, 2012) – Sedona Fire Board meetings always seem to be filled with surprises, and the March 27, 2012 Forum was no exception. The meeting room at the Jewish Community Center of Sedona and the Verde Valley was nearly filled to capacity. The audience was remarkably peaceful and polite, with no outbursts or reactions. If anyone has attended a Fire Board meeting in the past, the passion expressed is sometimes over the top. Recently a security officer was added to the Fire Board meetings.

Sedona AZ (March 29, 2012) – A project nearly three years in the making finally came to completion last month when sculptures created by local artists Kim Kori and Ken Rowe were installed at Sedona’s two major roundabouts. The bronze sculptures, “Above and Beyond,” are located at the intersection of SR 89A and SR 179 and at SR 89A and Brewer Road.

Durango CO (March 29, 2012) – Freenotes Harmony Park, the world leader in outdoor music instruments, donated seven instruments to the city Sedona, Arizona. This spring, the instruments were installed at the Sedona Visitor’s Center and at the Bus Shelter on Main Street in Uptown Sedona. Freenotes is making donations of outdoor instrument ensembles to destination arts communities around the world. Sedona has received the second donation, the first having been made to Key West, Florida.

Sedona AZ (March 27, 2012) – The City of Sedona Art in Public Places Committee is proud to announce a new exhibition featuring the paintings of David Haskell. David Haskell is primarily a self-taught artist who began painting landscapes and seascapes while in high school. Although he worked his way through college as an illustrator, he chose a career in resource management with the National Park Service. He retired from the NPS in 1999 and ever since then he has been painting full-time. David is also a founding member and current president of the Arizona Plein Air Painters.
