Sedona AZ (September 10, 2018) – An injured hiker was rescued from near the summit of Bell Rock late Sunday morning after suffering a compound fracture of the their lower leg. The hiker, a Sedona resident, was hiking with friends when the accident occurred. “Due to the rugged terrain and inaccessibility of the patient, the best way to get them off of the rock was by helicopter,” said Battalion Chief Jordan Baker, “These types of operations are extremely high risk, but sometimes that is the only option available.”
Cottonwood AZ (September 10, 2018) – On September 9, 2018 the Verde Valley Fire District responded to the area of 89A and Wild Horse Ln. for the report of a single motorcycle accident with one male patient approximately 50 – 60 years old. Crews arrived on scene and treated the patient for a head injury and other upper body related injuries. 89A was closed in both directions for approximately 30 minutes.
