Tablet use expected to promote efficiency and enhanced safety for jail staff by reducing inmate movement with access to meaningful resources Camp Verde AZ (January 21, 2020) – As part of a pilot program beginning mid-year, inmates housed in the Camp Verde Detention Center will have access to tablets. Both the tablets and associated services are offered at no cost to the county by Securus Technologies, the company who currently handles the detention center’s online video visitation program. Prescott AZ (January 21, 2020) – It’s day 21 of Yavapai Silent Witness’ Catch 22 Program.  Today Yavapai County Law Enforcement is asking for your help in locating Jonathan Denis Fishback.On May 21, 2019, Fishback took a work truck from his employer without permission and drove recklessly throughout Prescott, Prescott Valley and Chino Valley.  Law Enforcement attempted to stop Fishback multiple times and he fled each time. Fishback’s reckless and dangerous driving behavior was such that Officers backed off from the pursuit at times in regards for the public’s safety.

Rimrock AZ (January 20, 2020) – It’s day 20 of Yavapai Silent Witness’ Catch 22 Program.  Today Yavapai County Law Enforcement is looking for Lisa Marie Belmares.  Between June and September of 2017 Belmares entered the victim’s property and removed several items from his property and residence.  The items taken included firearms, jewelry, coins, tools, animals and money. Some of the items were later recovered, but some of the items were traded for drugs.  The total loss to the victim was approximately $8,500.00.  

Clarkdale AZ (January 19, 2020) – The Annual Membership Meeting for CHSM will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 at 10:00 am at the Men’s Lounge of the Clark Memorial Clubhouse in Clarkdale. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting, it is not limited to members only. During the meeting, the CHSM Board of Directors will be introduced, including new board members. In addition, annual reports will be presented by the President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Collections staff. Progress made of the CHSM Strategic Plan formulated recently. Prescott AZ (January 19, 2020) – It’s day 19 of Yavapai Silent Witnesses Catch 22 Program.  Today the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Matthew Scott Bywater.  On August 3, 2018, Bywater and another suspect entered the victim’s home in the 20,000 block of Cactus Wren in Cordes Lakes, AZ and stole three firearms and $900 in cash.  The total loss to the victims was approximately $2300. Bywater was arrested but has since violated his probation in reference to this case. Sedona AZ (January 18, 2020) – The Sedona Heritage Museum is again presenting their popular historic sites tours of Oak Creek Canyon’s historic places on April 15, 16, 17 and 18 from 2-5 p.m. each day.These history roundups are guided tours of historic places from the top to the bottom of the canyon. In all, 20-some homesteads, squatters’ sites, campgrounds and other historic locations including stops at Bear Howard’s cabin, Purtymun’s Cave Springs kitchen, and the Thompson springhouse, among others will be visited.

Cottonwood AZ (January 17, 2020) – Saturday, January 25th from 8 am to 3 pm, the public is invited to join pet lovers from across the Verde Valley at Old Town Red Rooster Cafe to support Verde Valley Humane Society (VVHS). 10% of food purchases and 20% of all alcoholic beverages sold that day will be donated to Verde Valley Humane Society to help care for homeless pets.

Sedona AZ (January 17, 2020) – Do you have an interest in weaving, spinning, basket making, dyeing yarns or knitting? If so, come to Monday at the Museum at the Sedona Heritage Museum on Monday, January 27th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and join the members of the Verde Valley Weavers and Spinners Guild while they practice their art and share their love of fiber arts. Come to watch or bring your spinning wheel and yarns and join in the fun. They would be happy to answer any questions. There is no charge for this demonstration.
