Sedona AZ (June 10, 2015) – The creativity and originality of Sedona artists will be on full display this weekend at West Sedona’s Gandolfo Art Studio.  The public is cordially invited to the venue’s “Spring Into Summer” exhibit on June 13 and 14, at 10AM to 6PM each day. The nine participating artists will be showcasing an imposing array of paintings, jewelry, photography, glass, sculptures, and more.  To give back to the community, they will donate a portion of all sales to the Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition, a non-profit organization providing critical assistance to local senior citizens.

Paving work complete at Middle Verde Road, crews move to State Route 260 traffic interchange Verde Valley AZ (June 10, 2015) – Crews have completed paving work this week at the Middle Verde Road traffic interchange on Interstate 17 (milepost 290) earlier than expected and will move to the off and on-ramps of State Route 260 (milepost 287) on Thursday, June 11 and Sunday, June 14. In addition to work on the SR 260 interchange crews will continue paving work on northbound I-17 tonight and tomorrow, June 9 and 10 between mileposts 290 and 292. Sedona AZ (June 9, 2015) – UPDATE – On Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 1:30 p.m., there was a head-on collision involving two vehicles on  SR 89A just east of Rolling Hills Dr. in Sedona.   At the time Sedona PD officers were on the scene investigation of the collision, the Sedona Police Department received information from Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office of a suicidal subject and were attempting to locate him and his white Jeep Cherokee.  The driver and vehicle were confirmed to be the same subject and vehicle involved in this collision. Sedona AZ (June 9, 2015) – On June 23, 2015, there will be a public hearing as well as discussion and possible action taken by City Council in regards to the adoption of a resolution and ordinance updating the City of Sedona’s Consolidated Fee Schedule for the Parks and Recreation Department.  All City departments are required to review the consolidated fee schedule annually and recommend proposed changes to the schedule.  Proposed changes are to contain an explanation for the need for the newly proposed fees and identify any fees that may be mandated by law and any requests for deletions or increases.  None…

Clarkdale AZ (June 9, 2015) – The Town of Clarkdale Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing on Tuesday, June 16 at 4:00 p.m. to discuss proposed changes to the Zoning Code related to commercial zoning districts. These include allowing certain agricultural uses in commercial zoning districts, adding park and ride facilities as a permitted use, consolidating specific uses into broader categories and alphabetizing and standardizing language throughout four commercial districts.  Development standards for agriculture to control water and fertilizer use and minimize impact on residential areas are also being reviewed.

I found a cure this afternoon, I shucked it all and went flying … higher and higher … engine off over Mingus and a roundabout sled ride home. Sedona AZ (June 8, 2015) – At approximately 1:30 pm, Sunday, June 7, 2015, Sedona Fire District (SFD) emergency crews were called to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving  two vehicles on West State Route 89A between Brewer Road and Rolling Hills Drive. SFD crews determined three of the four occupants died on the scene. By Ted Grussing … the ice, the cold and wintry plains on the Colorado Plateau. The area south and  east of Flagstaff is replete with small lakes and the stress cracks in the ice create beautiful patterns which are fun to witness.
