Sedona AZ (June 7, 2019) – The Central Arizona Dental Society will host its inaugural AZ MOM North event on June 7 and 8 to help locals in need. More than 125 volunteer dentists, hygienists, lab technicians and assistants will provide free care to approximately 1,000 people over two days.The dental professionals – the majority of which are from northern Arizona – will utilize 50 state-of the-art dental chairs at the Rolle Activity Center on the NAU Campus to focus on relieving pain and infection. The Coldwater Fire was started by lightning on May 30th and the USFS is conducting burnouts to stop the spread. Not sure if they are managing the fire which means they are expanding the size of the fire or if they are simply suppressing the fire which is more than likely what they are doing with this one. Clints Well AZ (June 5, 2019) – Fire managers on the Mogollon Rim Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest have determined a lightning-caused fire that began May 30 is ideal for managing and will allow the fire to fulfill its natural role and consume forest debris.The 2,273-acre Coldwater Fire is approximately 4 miles south of Clints Well, burning in an area consisting of dead and down pine and mixed conifer. Clarkdale AZ (June 5, 2019) – Yavapai College leadership and elected officials of the Verde Valley met over lunch on Tuesday at the Yavapai College Sedona Center to discuss the construction of a new skilled trades center in the Verde Valley.These preliminary discussions were led by Yavapai College President Dr. Lisa Rhine and her executive leadership team. The incident was eventually resolved without a shot fired or serious confrontation due to ongoing negotiations while assisting personnel deployed to protect the surrounding neighborhood.
