Sedona AZ (October 12, 2017) – The American Red Cross is partnering with Sedona Fire District on “Sound The Alarm” Campaign. On October 14, 2017 we are teaming up with Sedona Shadows to install smoke alarms. With each visit volunteers will ask to test or install smoke alarms. If the pre-existing smoke alarms need batteries, they will be replaced; or if there are no smoke alarms, if they are inoperable, or too old, smoke alarms will be installed in residences that needed them. With the program running smoothly, my role as Citizen Engagement Coordinator has been diversified to provide more value to not only city staff, but also to residents.First, I’ve been assisting with the surveys the city conducted during our Transportation Master Plan. If you didn’t hear about them, we conducted two surveys: the first to gauge the community’s tolerance on traffic issues in Sedona and the second to see which potential transportation strategies were supported.
