Cottonwood AZ (February 20, 2019) – On November 24, 2018, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Deputy’s Chris Eller and Steve Gresham responded to an urgent call regarding a female kayaker who fell out of her kayak in Verde River during very active rapids. Deputies found that the kayaker, in the water for nearly 30 minutes, was trapped by submerged boulders, losing strength and the ability to hold her head above the fast moving water. Sedona AZ (February 20, 2019) – The Sedona Parks and Recreation Department, in cooperation with the Sedona Running Company, invites runners to the Sedona Stumble Trail Run, now with options of a 5K distance or 10K distance. The Sedona Stumble Trail Run will take runners through Posse Grounds Park’s dirt multiuse trails with a start and finish line at the Pavilion at Posse Grounds Park. The course begins on the paved roads of the park to allow the crowd to thin before hitting technical, dirt trails; runners should expect steep, loose and narrow dirt trails.

Sedona AZ (February 18, 2019) – A house fire in Sedona on Saturday afternoon, February 16, 2019, has temporarily displaced the family living there. Firefighters arrived to the single family dwelling on Sanborn Drive and found a fire confined to the back bedroom.
