… of color rim the inside of this tulip at Filoli Gardens in the bay area … the pollination of the bloom is underway and a bit of a mess ensues, but that is life as we know it. A wee bit messy at times, but beauty will always out … I like the apparent brush strokes on the sides. It seems kind of warm too, and that is comforting as it is low 30’s here, snow and more real winter weather here and on the way. No flying, no boating, so looking through photos that show signs of warmth! This shot was taken  on February 26th 2015, by the way, and it was a beautiful, warm sunny day.

I got the photos for the book interior finished today, the cover and the back cover tomorrow and then the writing of text for each photo … things are going well!

The chill is coming through the walls and time for me to crawl under a comforter. Morning comes soon and along with it an ample dose of espresso … first the wake up … breathing … a fabulous day is going to be underway. Have a beautiful day, smile and make someone’s day!

    Cheers

    Ted

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth
quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexatious to the spirit.

The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols
    By Tommy Acosta
Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
