    Roads this page covers

    • SR 89A: Cottonwood through West Sedona and Uptown, then Oak Creek Canyon to the switchbacks and Flagstaff.
    • SR 179: the Village of Oak Creek and the Red Rock Scenic Byway to the Y in Sedona.
    • I-17: Camp Verde to the SR 179 and SR 89A exits and north toward Flagstaff.

Winter note: Oak Creek Canyon closes without much warning for snow, rockfall and crashes, and chains or four-wheel drive can be required above the switchbacks. In monsoon season, flash flooding can close the canyon and low crossings around the Verde Valley. When something closes, Sedona.biz covers it in our news section.
