Sedona AZ (April 16, 2019) – Sedona Fire District crews were dispatched to a reported house fire on Pyramid View Drive at 01:30 Monday morning. Upon arrival, fire crews found several moving boxes full of household items which had caught fire in the basement of the structure. “The fire sprinkler system worked perfectly,” said Fire Marshal Jon Davis, “The occupants had been alerted by the smoke detectors inside the home and when they went to investigate, the fire sprinkler system activated and confined the fire.” Damage to the structure was minimal and estimated to be less than $1000. Cottonwood AZ (April 16, 2019) – Last night, April 15, 2019, just after 9:30PM, deputies were dispatched to the 6100 block of E Mesa Drive, Cottonwood, regarding a vehicle that collided with a home. The driver, 26-year-old Wayne Area Jr., left an address on nearby River Run Drive in a car just reported stolen to YCSO by his step dad. On Saturday, April 27th at 10:00 a.m. at the Sedona Community Center, dementia educator and consultant, Karen Walker, will be leading an interactive, one hour class called “Dementia Speak”. During this hour, we will discuss the intent and message behind the words used by people living with dementia. We will also explore the effects of the words we use or don’t use with that same person.
