Starting January 1st, Yavapai Silent Witness will be highlighting one fugitive each day in an attempt to garner the public’s assistance in locating these individuals so law enforcement can take them into custody.  Each day through January 22nd a new fugitive will be highlighted, and a $500.00 cash reward will be offered for information that leads to the arrest of the fugitive.  This has been a very productive program historically with the help of the community. Sedona AZ (January 9, 2020) – “Monday at the Museum” will feature a fire making demonstration on Monday, January 20th, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Al Cornell will demonstrate pre-historic to new world fire starting methods. This includes the hand drill, the bow drill and the arctic strap drill methods. There is no fee for these demonstrations.

Cottonwood AZ (January 9, 2020) – The Verde Valley Fire and EMS Chiefs Association was recently awarded a grant from Unisource Emergency Services/Tucson Electric Power in the amount of $2,600. These funds will be used to purchase educational materials and approximately 160 carbon monoxide (CO) detectors for low-income, Veteran and disabled persons. Individuals fitting these guidelines who need a detector should contact their local fire or EMS agency. Participating agencies are: Copper Canyon Fire & Medical District, Cottonwood Fire & Medical Department, Jerome Fire Department, Sedona Fire District, Verde Valley Ambulance Company and Verde Valley Fire District.

Suspect also charged with earlier unrelated Arson    Sedona AZ (January 8, 2020) – On January 6, 2020, around 6:45 AM, an employee at the Circle K, 6000 block of Highway 179, in the Village of Oak Creek, called YCSO to report his 2004 maroon min-van had been stolen. The victim left the van running unattended to warm up while he was concluding his shift. After about 15 minutes, the employee went outside and the van was gone. Sedona AZ (January 7, 2020) – On January 3, 2020, around 8AM, YCSO deputies were called to US Forest Service land outside of Rimrock, Arizona, regarding several unattended packages of marijuana. The initial find involved US Forest Service personnel who thought the pile was simply trash until closer inspection. There was no immediate evidence as to ownership or suspects involved. The packages were vacuum sealed. During a search of the area, deputies located another package that contained several sheets of pre-packaged THC wax.

Prescott AZ (January 7, 2020) – It’s day 7 of Yavapai Silent Witness’ Catch 22 program. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help in locating Brittany Christian Gore. On November 27, 2018, Gore and an accomplice broke into a residence on Mingus Drive in Cordes Lakes and were staying in the residence. While inside the residence, Gore and her accomplice ransacked the inside of the home.  There was damaged property in every room of the home. Thousands of dollars in damage was done.
