The initial find involved US Forest Service personnel who thought the pile was simply trash until closer inspection. There was no immediate evidence as to ownership or suspects involved. The packages were vacuum sealed. During a search of the area, deputies located another package that contained several sheets of pre-packaged THC wax.

There were over 30 packages of marijuana weighing a total of 48 pounds.

Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT) detectives were contacted and will be handling the investigation.

At approximately 2 PM the same day, PANT detectives were notified by the Sedona Police Department regarding found packages containing marijuana. Sedona Police had received a phone call about suspicious packages discovered in a wooded area within city limits. PANT detectives arrived to assist officers and noted the packages were similar in appearance to those found earlier on US Forest Service Land. There were more than 230 packages, each weighing around 1.5 pounds, and a total weight at 357 pounds. A package containing THC wax was also located and weighed about 7.5 pounds.

PANT detectives estimate the street value of the marijuana at $648,000 and over $100,000 for the THC wax. The investigation into both these seizures is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the packages and/or suspect(s) involved, is urged to call Yavapai Silent Witness at 1800-932-3232. A direct tip that leads to arrests in this case becomes eligible for a cash reward.

The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols
    By Tommy Acosta
Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
