The third year of readings conducted by the Pumphouse Poetry and Project is about to begin. Once again a wide variety of wonderful authors will read from the steps of the old stone pumphouse, in the shade of the giant sycamore trees and within whispering distance of the creek. The third season of readings will begin on Friday, March 28th, from 5- 630 with Allen Woodman reading humorous love stories.

Cottonwood AZ (March 19, 2014) – Some of the finest blues musicians in Arizona come together for the 4th Annual Old Town Blues Fest on Saturday, March 29th at Old Town Center for the Arts in Cottonwood. Six bands will perform throughout the day, beginning at 2:00 pm and culminating with the blues fest jam session from 9:00 – 10:00 pm. This year’s event features performers from all over Arizona, including Arizona Blues Hall of Famer Tommy Dukes, and a return headlining performance by California’s Fran Banish.
Clarkdale AZ (March 19, 2014) – The Yavapai College Verde Valley campus hosts the Verde Valley SciTech Festival Expo on Friday, March 28 from 5 to 9 p.m. The Expo, which is free and open to the public, is an extension of the statewide Arizona SciTech Festival, held annually in February and March. The event celebrates science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and features a variety of exhibitions, workshops, expos and tours across the state to underscore how STEM will influence Arizona for the next century.
By Warren Woodward, Sedona Resident(March 19, 2014) On March 4th I filed consumer fraud complaints with the Arizona Attorney General’s (A.G.) office against both Navopache Electric Cooperative and APS for lying about their “smart” meter transmissions as proved in my two recent videos (here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BjMGaQdmxY and here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_TLCd3Litg). Today I got letters from the A.G.’s office saying my complaint “appears to fall within the jurisdiction and authority” of the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC). In my opinion, it “appears” the A.G.’s office is avoiding their statutory responsibility under A.R.S. 44-1522 to protect consumers from fraud.
Sedona AZ (March 19, 2014) – Sedona Arts Center’s 34th Annual Juried Members’ Exhibition announced their award winners on Friday, March 7, 2014. Christie Palmer won Best of Show this year for her watercolor, “Window of Faith, Lisbon.” Member artists submitted professional and emerging works in sculpture, ceramics, drawing, colored pencil, pastel, oil, acrylic watercolor and mixed media painting, glass, wood, fiber, 3D and 2-D mixed media, jewelry and photography.

Sedona AZ (March 18, 2014) – The Coconino National Forest is implementing a prohibition on glass food and beverage containers on federal lands near Oak Creek and Fossil Creek, two popular public swimming areas. This ban will be in effect beginning April 1, 2014. Broken glass containers are to blame for cut feet and litter in many locations along these two streams. This prohibition will enhance health and safety and reduce hazardous waste in the stream corridor.
