Cottonwood AZ (May 7, 2014) – Yavapai College’s Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) honored the academic achievements of 18 Yavapai College students at CTEC’s annual recognition event held April 25 at the Yavapai College Prescott campus. Katy Welch, an electronics student who lives in Cottonwood, received the President’s Award for Excellence. Jeanne L. Miller, a Prescott resident in the administration of justice program, received the Vice President’s Award for Academic Excellence. Both were also honored as the outstanding students in their respective programs.
Verde Valley (May 7, 2014) – Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition received an Excellence Award for Special Needs Transportation from the Arizona Transit Association/Arizona Department of Transportation during its awards luncheon held April 15 in Tucson.
Sedona AZ (May 7, 2014) – The Humane Society of Sedona will host its Third Annual Help the Animals Auction on May 10th at the Elks Lodge located at 110 Airport Road in Sedona. The auction has doubled in size in terms of donations received for the auction and funds raised via auction sales. The Humane Society attributes the success of this event to the quality auction items donated by their community partners, businesses and individual supporters. The items are wide in variety and price and therefore, HSS believes, there is something that will appeal to everyone who attends.
Sedona AZ (May 7, 2014) – The City of Sedona is creating new opportunities for residents to be involved in civic matters. Last year, the City Council approved a new Citizen Engagement Program. Its coordinator, Lauren Browne, is now working to improve communication with citizens, organize a volunteer program, and be a conduit for public comments and ideas.
