By Ted GrussingThis little creature was dining on food he found on the tops of Lily Pads in the channel between the Upper Eau Clair Lake and Birch Lake this evening; he would feed on whatever it was on the top of a pad and then hop to the next pad and clean it out. Really fun to watch and even funner to shoot it. A Yellow-Rumped Warbler … much prettier than the name. A “Yellow Tail Lily Hopper” sounds better :+)

Sedona AZ (October 1, 2015) – The Giving Angels has launched its 2015 drive for donations in an effort to bring 630-plus holiday gift bags to seniors who live independently and who are beneath the poverty line throughout the Verde Valley.The organization will be collecting in-kind and cash donations at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14th, outside The Sedona Women’s meeting at Poco Diablo Resort. The meeting, “Bought and Sold: Modern Day Slavery,” is expected to be heavily attended by women from throughout the area.

Sedona AZ (September 30, 2015) – The Arizona Attorney General’s Office recently issued a scam alert warning Arizonans of an aggressive fake lottery scam targeting seniors. The scam starts with a phone call from a person who falsely claims to be affiliated with Mega Millions. Seniors are told they’ve won the Mega Millions lottery and are asked to pay thousands of dollars upfront in order to claim their prize money. The scammer even offers to pick the victim up and drive them to the bank.

Sedona AZ (September 29, 2015) – On September 27, 2015, YCSO deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of Sacred Eagle Lane in a remote area of the Village of Oak Creek, Arizona, regarding a burglary in progress. The residents, who had been away for several days, just arrived home to find an unknown man removing furniture from their guest house on the property. They called 911 while convincing him to remain on site pending arrival of deputies.
