Sedona AZ (November 3, 2016) – The Giving Angels has started collecting donations to give more than 600 seniors holiday gifts with the generous help of donors from Sedona, Cottonwood and the Verde Valley. The charity provides gifts to independent, low-income seniors in the Verde Valley.Donation boxes will be at community locations November 1st through December 7th.  Donations being sought include, unscented lotion, notecards, stamps, kitchen towels, dishcloths, pot holders, game books, and large-print books. It is requested that items be new.

Endangered Several Motorists along Major Highways  Cottonwood AZ (November 2, 2016) – On October 29, 2016, at approximately 3:30 PM, YCSO deputies were dispatched to a traffic offense incident near Western Drive, Cottonwood, regarding a potentially impaired driver. The caller was able to obtain a license plate showing the registered owner as Dailey Hicks. The vehicle was identified as a 1995 Geo sedan, blue in color. Deputies were aware that 22-year-old Dailey Hicks Jr. from Cottonwood, the vehicle owner’s son, was wanted on a felony warrant and had been pursued a few days prior in Cornville.
