Clarkdale AZ (April 18, 2018) – On Wednesday April 18, at approximately 12:55 PM, the Verde Valley Fire District (VVFD), Cottonwood Fire and Medical Department (CFMD), Verde Valley Ambulance Company (VVAC), and the Clarkdale Police Department (CLPD) responded to a report of a single car motor vehicle accident on Broadway at the approximate intersection of Bent River Ranch Road.Once on scene VVFD found one vehicle off the road on a steep incline with a single occupant. The driver was still in the car and did not want to exit due to its precarious position.

Sedona AZ (April 18, 2018) – Stage 1 campfire and smoking restrictions will be implemented on most of the Red Rock Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest starting on Friday (April 20) at 8 a.m.The restrictions apply only to specific areas of the Red Rock Ranger District, including National Forest land in the Verde Valley on the east side of the Verde River, Oak Creek Canyon, lower Sycamore Canyon, lower West Clear Creek, Fossil Creek and Bullpen. The area southeast of Interstate 17, east of Forest Road 618, and north of Forest Road 214 is not included in the restriction area.

Clarkdale AZ (April 18, 2018) – The Northern Arizona Student Art Show (NAZSAS) is a juried art show for aspiring high school artists that has become a major art event in Northern Arizona. The public is invited to attend and view works of over 350 student artists from nine regional high schools. Over $3,000 will be awarded to the top artists through scholarships and cash prizes. Made In Clarkdale Through the Ellie Bauer Scholarship fund, Made In Clarkdale will be offering a $1,000 scholarship this year.

Sedona AZ (April 17, 2018) – After consulting with local County Emergency Managers and District Rangers, it has been determined that effective Friday, April 20th, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. Sedona Fire District (SFD) is implementing fire restrictions.These restrictions prohibit all open fires, fire pits and campfires (except those noted below). During the period of fire restrictions, no burn permits will be issued and existing burn permits are hereby suspended. Fireworks and other pyrotechnic displays are prohibited, unless permitted by the Fire Marshal.
