A fire that broke out Sunday afternoon , June 13, burned across an estimated 1,000 acres of brush and trees near residential areas in Cornville and sparked evacuations.So far, one structure has been destroyed.According to InciWeb, The eastern flank of the fire remained active overnight, but overall fire activity was minimal.Last night the fire moved into House Mountain, just northeast of the community of Cornville, and is currently burning away from populated areas.
Clarkdale AZ (June 14, 2021) – On June 6 at 1:45pm Verde Valley Fire and Cottonwood Fire responded to a report of a semi truck and trailer on its side in a round about on 89A. On arrival crews found the truck and trailer had rolled on its side while exiting the roundabout at Centerville Lane.

Page Springs AZ (June 12, 2021) – On June 11 at 5:15pm Verde Valley Fire responded to an interface call where brush was on fire threatening a house. Crews saw a column of smoke when leaving the station and immediately upgraded the assignment to working fire, which dispatched additional resource to assist with fire attack.On arrival E321 found a fire in thick brush on the side of Page Springs Rd.. Crews stopped the forward progress quickly and with additional help from Sedona Fire and Forest service were able to keep the fire from spreading to a near by house.

Cottonwood AZ (June 11, 2021) – UPDATE – On June 8, 2021, following an intensive investigation, YCSO deputies and detectives, were able to locate evidence and identify 3 suspects in the Criminal Damage case at the Dr. Daniel Bright School in Cottonwood. There was over $3,500 worth of damage done to the school as a result of the broken windows and extensive graffiti. They are being asked if they voted and if they did, who they voted for? There have been instances where individuals have identified themselves as volunteers for the Yavapai County Recorder’s Office and asked who resides in the home. When asked for county ID, they could not provide it.
