Verde Valley AZ (May 3, 2013) – The Dump the Drugs event held on April 27th collected a record 587.4 pounds of medication. The event was sponsored by MATFORCE and seven police departments, including: Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Cottonwood, Sedona, Camp Verde and Clarkdale. It was held in conjunction with the National Prescription Drug Take-Back campaign, which encourages safe disposal of unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medication.

Sedona AZ (May 3, 2013) – On May 3, 2013, Geotechnical and Environmental Sciences Consultants Firm, Ninyo and Moore, will be drilling in a couple of locations on Airport Road, about 500-feet north from the Airport Overlook. The City of Sedona is working with the Airport Authority and Yavapai County on this matter. The drillings are part of a geotechnical report being prepared by Ninyo and Moore to identify the stability of the area, as part of an approach to repair the road shoulder issue.
Verde Valley AZ (May 2, 2013) – Lane restrictions will be required on an eight-mile segment of State Route 89A between Cottonwood and Sedona beginning Monday, May 13 to allow crews to perform preventative maintenance on the roadway, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Work will continue daily, Monday to Thursday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. until May 21. The four-lane divided highway segment of SR 89A (mileposts 357-365) will be narrowed to one lane in each direction.
