The Red Rock Ranger District completed a year of public meetings to discuss trail ideas and now seeks more specific comments on proposed trail connectors and trailhead improvements on the National Forest.

Due to recent high winds, there are numerous hazardous trees fallen and leaning in the Oak Creek Canyon area, an area with narrow tread and steep drop-offs. Mayer AZ (May 14, 2014) – The Orme School is pleased to announce that their Community Garden has been accepted as an Approved Food Source by the Arizona Department of Health Services. One of only 3 approved sources in the state, Orme’s garden had to undergo a series of inspections and food safety procedures before being approved through a final site visit by state personnel. Demonstrating that the school has met all safety requirements, this approval allows The Orme School to utilize their homegrown produce in meals in Founders Hall, which is considered a commercial kitchen.

Ongoing for several years, this year-round program is available to adults of most physical fitness levels who are interested in adding variety to their workout routines. Water aerobics is a leader in low impact aerobic exercise, allowing the participant to work at their own pace while toning muscles, working range of motion and getting their heart rate moving. AquaZumba is also available as part of the offered classes.
