… I took this shot of a Woodie down at the ponds late October and while he was just stretching his wings out it seems as though he was directing an unseen, unheard orchestra playing a symphony beyond our vision, residing on the other side of our reality. As a director he strikes a beautiful pose … and the sounds of the solar wind can be heard as it passes by our little planet and on out to forever and our Woodie friend orchestrates the music … the music of eternity.

By John Neville Verde Valley AZ (February 7, 2014) – You’ve likely heard this before: “Now is a great time to go solar.” While that statement has been true before, it has never been more true than it is today. But wait a minute! Haven’t the utilities eliminated most of their incentives? Yes, but even with the loss of utility rebates, solar photovoltaic electric systems are less expensive now than ever before. Also, installation costs are less, without incentives, than they were just a few years ago. People interested in solar systems for their homes or businesses should make a…

By Ted Grussing … getting to be that time of year when some color is appreciated and the drabness of winter is wearing on the spirit … color and light … and so I dug through some of the shots from last summer and fall and found this shot of some mesquite seed pods that I took by the side of the road on one of my daily walks. Soon the quiet of winter will be gone and the richness of life will again envelope our daily experiences … need to be sure to take a few moments to appreciate…

By Ted Grussing … down, airbrakes deployed and gear on the way down … touch down in about two seconds … it was good and a beautiful spray of water went out as his feet touched the water and began braking. The intensity of his focus can be seen as he picks his landing spot and nails the landing. After return shipping the Bose speakers I bought on eBay and a high end sound card which Anthony said I do not need, ordering studio monitors which he said I would like (he uses them) it was down to the ponds…

Information & Opinion by Warren Woodward(February 4, 2014) The City of Sedona is spreading disinformation regarding “smart” meters. First, on January 21st of this year, Nick Gioello, the Assistant to the City Manager (not to be confused with the Assistant City Manager), sent out an email proclaiming that: “The City of Sedona has no jurisdictional authority regarding the installation of smart meters or the establishment of opt out fees; that authority is vested with the Arizona Corporation Commission by State statute.”

By Ted Grussing … my mind was fried finishing up the new computer and installing all the software again. Many actions to re-write and preferences and shortcuts to establish, but it is worth it. The computer is operating flawlessly and all three monitors have a purpose which is working out well … I think so anyhow. The fourth monitor will be functional next week. The photo tonight is the third one I started and now am running short on time so it will have to do. It is a shot of part of Hoodoo city on the upper eastern reaches…

By Ted Grussing Sedona AZ (February 2, 2014) … after I arrived at Performance One Aviation at Falcon Field this morning, my friend picked me up and it was off to the Gilbert Riparian water park for some fun shooting. It was mid-day before we got there and most all critters were resting or quietly feeding in the stillness of the warm day. It was good to be out there walking this beautiful park.

By Robert Albrecht, Kachina (Sedona) Resident(January 30, 2014) Little did I know that my “Letter to the Editor [of the Red Rock News]” was going to be selected by Christopher Fox Graham to respond with an “Editorial “comment.  Nicely written and it contained all of the “feel good” information that you would expect from the Editor of the town newspaper. I would however like to respond to several issues so the general public has a little additional information on this matter. “The road is public, paid for by Sedona taxes from locals and tourists.” The fact is Kachina residents pay…
