This interpretive event is presented by the Astronomers of Verde Valley and is free to the public. Flagstaff, AZ (October 17, 2011) – Contractors will be performing routine maintenance on Elden Lookout Road, Forest Road 557. The road will be temporarily closed for public safety beginning Wednesday, October 19 until the work is complete – approximately one to two weeks. Sedona AZ (October 17, 2011) – The City of Sedona Parks and Recreation Department has moved its water aerobics program indoors for the winter. Ongoing for several years, this year round program is available to adults of most physical fitness levels who are interested in adding variety to their work-out routines. Water aerobics is a leader in low impact aerobic exercise, allowing the participant to work at their own pace while toning muscles, working range of motion and getting their heart rate moving. New this winter, we have added AquaZumba to our weekly schedule.

Sedona AZ (October 17, 2011) – On October 11, 2011, the Sedona City Council approved new political sign code regulations in response to a new State Law. This past legislative session, the Arizona Legislature enacted House Bill 2500 which amended Section 16-1019, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to political signs. The Governor subsequently signed the bill into law. Sedona’s new regulations go into effect on November 10, 2011.

The group, approximately 75 people strong, all in bright yellow tee shirts, lined up along State Route 89a (SR 89a) between Dry Creek Road and Airport Road. Sedona AZ (October 16, 2011) – At their October 11, 2011 meeting, Sedona City Council appointed Kenneth Jepson, Kathryn Losoff, and Noel Marquis to serve on the Personnel Board. This five-member board serves as an advisory board to the City Manager in determining whether just cause existed for dismissal, demotion, or suspension without pay of classified, non-probationary employees; and that proper procedures have been followed in such matters.
