    NAWS Announces People’s Choice Award

    Sedona AZ (November 8, 2011) – The Northern Arizona Watercolor Society held its Fall Experimental Exhibition in October.  Throughout the three week show, the viewing public was asked to decide on the People’s Choice Award.  The members were also asked to judge their peers in determining a Member’s Choice Award. 20111108 NAWS Juried MembersThe results were announced to a packed house at the Society’s October meeting after the show had closed and the votes were tallied.  The coveted People’s Choice Award was presented to Debbie Gallagher, for her painting of “Grandmother”.  Rosemary Corneto’s “Spiritual Journey” painting won the Member’s Choice Award.

    Jan Saunders had been unable to attend the awards ceremony at the time her Award of Excellence was presented during the actual show, and she received it at the October meeting as well.

    Four new juried members received “Excellence In Achievement” certificates for being admitted into three juried shows.  Recipients of juried status were  Pamela Fox-Klauser, Cathy Gazda, Heather Molans, and Scotti Ruhlman.
