Camp Verde AZ (June 6, 2017) – Camp Verde Community Library announces the continuation of Music in the Stacks, a free monthly concert series on Thursday, June 8th at 5:30 pm in the library’s Fireside Room. Music in the Stacks is a showcase of local and national musicians who entertain regularly in Northern Arizona. There will be 5-7 different performers during the show with a rotating variety each month.

Sedona AZ (June 6, 2017) – A weekend water line break at the Sedona City Hall complex has affected the buildings housing the Community Development, Finance, Human Resources and Wastewater billing services functions. All City Hall offices are open and services are being provided but some services in the affected departments may be limited. By Ted Grussing… Stoneman Lake is one of the permanent natural lakes in Arizona and although it is prone to dry up, when it is full, it is about one hundred acres and about 10’ deep. The state record Yellow Perch was caught there in 1984, kinda amazing considering the small size and propensity for drying up. The lake and land around it appear to be in a depression and not sure if it is a caldera or just a natural depression.
Sedona AZ (June 5, 2017) – Shortly before 2:30 pm on Sunday, June 4, 2017, Sedona Fire District (SFD) crews responded to a reported injured hiker on the Secret Canyon Trail. SFD emergency crews responded from SFD fire station #1 in West Sedona and SFD fire station #4 in Uptown Sedona to the Secret Canyon Trailhead off of Dry Creek Rd.Once at the trailhead, SFD Battalion Chief Jayson Coil was able to establish that the injured hiker had suffered a ground level fall approximately five hours earlier and sustained serious extremity injuries. Post-Hearing Briefs were then due May 17th, and Post-Hearing Rebuttal Briefs were due June 1st. Cottonwood AZ (June 1, 2017) – At 9:17 am June 1, 2017 Verde Valley Fire District was dispatched to a wild land fire on 89a mile post 359, cause by a vehicle that had the front tire come off of the vehicle, causing sparks and hot metal to ignite the weeds along the road. Crews were able to stop the spread of the fire within 15 minutes of arriving on scene. The fire was completely extinguished with the assistance of Sedona Fire District, Prescott National Forest Service and ADOT.
