Sedona AZ (April 27, 2018) – Carol Decker, President of the University Women of Sedona, is pleased to announced that at its April 5, 2018 general meeting, the members voted to expand their membership requirements to include any woman holding a two-year Associate’s degree, RN degree, or Bachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university. This overturns a 40-year-old requirement that all women had to hold a minimum of a four-year degree.

Sedona AZ (April 26, 2018) – Volunteers and Coconino National Forest employees helped remove graffiti from rocks in Oak Creek Canyon on April 24, restoring the canyon and creek to its original beauty after criminals marred and defaced a large area of the canyon sometime earlier this month.Volunteers with Friends of the Forest and Natural Restorations were able to remove almost all of the graffiti yesterday afternoon located between Halfway Picnic Site and Slide Rock State Park. Verde Valley AZ (April 25, 2018) – On March 22, 2018, around 2:30 PM, the Sheriff’s office was contacted by a US Forest Service employee on patrol who reported the discovery of human remains. They were located in a very remote area alongside the Verde River, west of the White Bluffs, about 4-5 miles upstream from the Sheep’s Bridge – see photo.The following day, a YCSO detective and assistant were flown by helicopter to the scene. Sedona AZ (April 25, 2018) – The Sedona City Council has proclaimed Saturday, April 28 “Sedona Public Library Day” in recognition of the 60th anniversary of the Library. The proclamation was signed by Mayor Sandy Moriarty, who sponsored the proclamation along with Vice Mayor John Martinez. The proclamation was presented to library representatives at the April 24 city council meeting.
