On the way back from Cottonwood this afternoon I stopped by Bubbling Ponds and got several hundred shots of an Osprey who was cruising the ponds to find an early dinner; he left after a while without finding his meal and shortly thereafter this Blue Heron dropped in to try his luck. The evaporative cooler was doing well keeping the house 20 degrees cooler than the outside temp, but I wanted more … and more I got as the new HVAC system went on a couple of hours ago. Gone is the nice moist air, but the chill of dropping 6 degrees in an hour is pretty nice. Back to the evaporative cooler early in the morning, but tonight I sleep in 70 degree comfort.

Cottonwood AZ (June 24, 2020) – During the middle of May, detectives from the Partner’s Against Narcotics Trafficking task force developed information regarding the sale of fentanyl pills from a motorhome parked on property in the 2400 block of South Cedar Lane, Cottonwood. Detectives verified a high volume of traffic at the location. Over the next few weeks, the investigation continued and specific individuals were identified who were involved in the drug sales. Based on the information gathered during this time, detectives sought and obtained a search warrant for the motorhome. Testing Capacity Continues To Increase In ArizonaPhoenix AZ (June 24, 2020) – Governor Doug Ducey and the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) today announced continued efforts to increase access to COVID-19 testing in partnership with healthcare providers statewide. On Tuesday, an additional Roche testing machine was secured for Sonora Quest Laboratories to expand testing in the state. ADHS is providing additional funding to increase collection sites to expand access. Over the weekend, ADHS provided 10,000 specimen collection kits to Sonora Quest Laboratories to assist with increased demand.

Some customers have contacted MVD worried that registration tabs have taken longer than expected to be sent via the U.S. Mail. Clarkdale AZ (June 23, 2020) – Clarkdale Historical Society and Museum (CHSM) has been awarded an $8,000.00 grant from Arizona Humanities. Working under a tight deadline and unable to meet face-to face, the CHSM Board of Directors applied for the grant to offset the cancellation of fundraising activities.  The money awarded will help alleviate the financial loss due to the Covid-19 imposed fundraising event cancellations and Museum closure.
